Tilley Travel Tips with Alison Tilley
(NC)-The
Tilley name has been synonymous with travel ever since Alex
Tilley invented the now famous Tilley Hat, more than 20 years
ago. Alex Tilley has passed on his love of travel to his daughter,
Alison. Having been around the world ten times since she was
17-years-old, Alison is an expert on the ins and outs of travelling.
She has prepared a number of tips to help others get the most
out of their travel experiences.
Value Your Valuables
Carry the most important items at all times or keep them
in a secure place such as a Tilley secret pocket, money belt
or hotel safe
Avoid advertising wealth. Keep expensive cameras hidden,
and leave costly jewellery and watches at home
Remain alert to loud arguments, bumps and other incidents,
which may be staged by thieves to distract their victim
Be careful to cover the number of telephone calling cards
in hotels and at airports in case thieves are watching
Tips for Flying
While flying, drink plenty of fluids, to prevent dryness
in the nose, throat and eyes
Wear loose clothing with an expandable waistband since the
body tends to swell while in the air
Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as they cause dehydration and
can disrupt sleep patterns
If flying all night, avoid going to bed when landing as it
only prolongs adjustment to the new time zone. Try to stay
awake until it's bedtime in the new surroundings
Remember: it takes about two days to adjust to a new time
zone
